Everyday Money Tools is designed with privacy as a core principle. We do NOT collect:

  • Calculation inputs or results
  • Usage analytics or tracking data
  • Device identifiers or advertising IDs
  • Location information
  • Cookies for tracking purposes

How the App Works

Local Processing: All calculations are performed directly on your device. Your input data never leaves your device.

No Server Storage: We do not maintain databases containing user data. Your information is not stored on our servers.

No Account Required: You can use the app without creating an account, signing in, or providing any personal information.

Data We Access (But Don't Store)

To provide certain features, the app temporarily accesses the following data, which is not stored or logged:

Mortgage Rate Data

  • Source: Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED)
  • Purpose: Pre-fill current mortgage rates in calculators
  • Privacy: Anonymous API requests; no user identification
  • Cached: Rates cached locally for 10 minutes to reduce API calls

Currency Exchange Rates

  • Source: Open Exchange Rates
  • Purpose: Provide current currency conversion rates
  • Privacy: Anonymous API requests; no user identification
  • Cached: Rates cached locally to improve performance

Network Activity

The app makes limited network requests only for:

  • Fetching current mortgage rates from FRED API
  • Fetching currency exchange rates from Open Exchange Rates
  • Loading the app (if using web version)

These requests do not include any user data or calculation results.

Offline Functionality

The app works offline using cached data:

  • Mortgage rates fall back to bundled reference data when offline
  • All calculators function without internet connection
  • Your calculations and inputs remain private on your device

Data Storage

Local Storage Only: The app may store the following data locally on your device:

  • Cached mortgage rates (refreshed periodically)
  • Cached currency rates (refreshed periodically)
  • App preferences (if implemented in future versions)

This data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

Children's Privacy

Our app does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app is rated 4+ and suitable for all ages. No personal information is collected from users of any age.

Security

While we don't collect your data, we take security seriously:

  • All network communications use HTTPS encryption
  • No sensitive data is transmitted or stored
  • No login credentials or passwords required
  • Regular security updates for dependencies

The app is available worldwide. The privacy protections in this policy apply to all users regardless of location. No personal data crosses borders because no personal data is collected.

We don't track you, so Do Not Track settings are irrelevant. We respect your privacy by default.
