Is the app really free?
Yes! Everyday Money Tools is completely free with no ads, in-app purchases, or hidden fees. We built this app to help people make better financial decisions, not to profit from them.
Do I need to create an account?
No. The app works without any account, login, or personal information. Just download and start using it immediately.
Is my financial data private?
Absolutely. All calculations happen on your device. We don't collect, store, or transmit any of your financial data. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Does the app work offline?
Yes! All calculators work offline. Mortgage rates and currency conversions use cached data when you're offline.
Where do the mortgage rates come from?
We fetch current mortgage rates from the Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED) API, updated daily. These are national averages—your lender may quote different rates based on your credit profile.
Are the currency exchange rates accurate?
Yes. We use Open Exchange Rates, which provides real-time exchange rates updated regularly. However, actual rates at banks or exchange services may differ slightly.
Can I save my calculations?
Currently, calculations are not saved between sessions. We're considering adding an optional save feature in a future update that would store data locally on your device.
Why are the interest rate calculators useful?
The Simple vs. Compound Interest calculator helps you understand how different interest types affect savings and loans. It's educational and helps you compare investment options.
Is this app suitable for professional financial planning?
While our calculators use accurate formulas, they're designed for general planning and education. For professional financial advice, please consult a licensed financial advisor.
The app won't load or crashes. What should I do?
